Hi,
What is difference between Kela and YTK? If I have residence permit A type and a good job then should I go for YTK?
Please advise how they both work.
Thanks
Kela and YTK
Re: Kela and YTK
if you get unemployed Kela will pay you the basic allowance like 5-600€. Ytk will pay based on your salary, like 60-70%... You can do the math https://en.ytk.fi/if-you-become-unemplo ... calculator
Re: Kela and YTK
You can compare them yourself. Both are available in English; however, the most important thing to know about them is that you should already be a member of YTK or other similiar kassa if you've been working.
Now, kela covers you, of course, if you are not a member of any kassa, but the unemployment money that you get from there is just the basic. So, joining a kassa gets you a bigger pie if and when you are laid off.

Re: Kela and YTK
Hi all,
Additionally, please do note the YTK dependency on KELA. I.e. if a person get's unemployed, their right to unemployment benefits are tied to statements and decisions from KELA - despite the fact that YTK is private and that the individual pays separately for it. Based on the recent proposal, it is likely that the new rules would also apply to YTK unemployment allows - again, despite that it is private institution.
Raises a couple of questions on the moral and ethical part on this.

Like the part that YTK, and all the other unemployment funds, pay only 10% of the earnings related benefits. The rest comes from KELA.suomynona.yllatot wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 3:58 pmHi all,

edit. correction: 5,6% from funds, 38,9 from government (so Kela) and 55,5% from TVR, which gets money from employers and employees (the työttömyysvakuutusmaksu in your payslip).
