Hello everyone!
I'm now having a permanent resident permit and my passport will expire in July. So I wonder if I have to apply for a new permanent resident permit since I will have a new passport?

Finland has decoupled residence permits from passports since they introduced residence permit cards. You can simply renew your passport and continue normally.
If you have the old style residence permit sticker on the passport, then you should simply apply for a permanent residence permit card NOT permanent residence permit. It's a simply process. The application is usually approved on the same day and it takes 1-2 weeks to get your new residence permit card. More info here http://migri.fi/en/renewal-of-a-residence-permit-card

Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.
