Speed camera flashed, who gets the ticket?
Hi all,
Okay, so yesterday, on Kehä III, I was driving and had the cruise control set at 82 Km/hr. Exact, I know, since it is a digital display. There was a van, some company, called Jaa something that overtook from the right, and the camera flashed, at the exact moment when we were both in front of the camera.
Who gets the ticket? Now I am freaking out! Perhaps, I shouldn't have been driving at 82 on the left lane, but left it for those needing to go faster.
Where can I check this from please?

You'll get your ticket by mail, if you get one. If you don't agree with it, you can have a meeting with coppers.network_engineer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 2:57 pmHi all,

Of course you will find out in couple of days / weeks, if you are going to get ticket or not... But I have been in such situation (not exact) but similar.
Couple of months ago when the weather was going haywire, there were a lot signs which were covered with snow and it was really hard to make out what was the speed limit. I was already driving under the speed limits (70 on 80 road), but than some sign came (maybe 60 km/h?) and camera flashed. There was a car behind me who was tailgating me all that time and he decided to overtake me right next to the camera, so the confusion became who will get the ticket and why.
But in the end, I never received any ticket. It has been few months and nothing came to my door.

Re: Speed camera flashed, who gets the ticket?
I hope both of you get tickets. Your inconsiderate and unsocial driving forced the other road users to perform dangerous maneuvers (overtaking from right). The left lane isn't for cruising.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

Mr Savior of the internet is in the house
Just in case if you feel like throwing another comment, here are the details... (annnd I am pretty sure you'll find something to comment about it as well... )
It was a single lane, unlit road and road signs were covered with snow and the tailgating dude/gal was forcing me drive fast in a snowstorm. But sure, it must be very inconsiderate and antisocial behavior while driving on a single lane during a snowstorm and try to keep the car on the road while the guy/gal behind you doesn't really give a fk. I really hope I'll get a ticket for that and I really hope you start reading before commenting. but who am I kidding right?
Re: Speed camera flashed, who gets the ticket?
Accuses others of not reading.. but also tries to pass Kehä III as a single lane road to fit his nice little story.

As I mentioned before Mr Savior would find something to comment about, because why notAccuses others of not reading.. but also tries to pass Kehä III as a single lane road to fit his nice little story.
If every road in Finland is Keha 3, than sure... You must know about it, right? You know In Finland either you drive / live / sleep on Keha 3 or not.. That's just the rule of being in Finland

What's this? Are you trying to incite some kind of angry reaction from me? You're just embarrassing yourself, my man.

Soo? commenting for the sake of comment, huh? What's this? Are you trying to incite some kind of angry reaction from me?
(I wrote this comment sitting in the middle of Keha III while displaying antisocial behavior towards the others)
Just learning from the best (* in Finland)You're just embarrassing yourself, my man.

Re: Speed camera flashed, who gets the ticket?
Beep_Boop, I mentioned Kehä III in my post. Not the other poster 'biryvih'.
BTW, I know about the cameras on Kehä III. Was on cruise control plus have the warning on my car for that very reason, wasn't "cruising". The full details are like this: I was on cruise control, 82 Km/ Hr. Exact. In the left lane (correctly so). And passing other cars on the right (couple of them driving, I would assume 70 or less). The van came up behind me, about 100-150 meters. Wanted to overtake, but I kept to the speed, because I knew about the camera. The guy switched to the right lane and tried to overtake me (from the wrong side), exactly as we reached the camera. Flash!
I would have moved once we crossed the camera, maybe later.
What would you have done? Sped up right into the face of the camera?
Re: Speed camera flashed, who gets the ticket?
In this situation (somebody behind driving too close) you just slow down. if need be slow down enough so that the distance they leave behind your car equals a safe stopping distance. If you crash your car because you're driving faster than you want to the driver of the car behind is unlikely to stop and take the blame.
Re: Speed camera flashed, who gets the ticket?
Police already has the needed information in their system, all that is missing is translations of the papers that need to be sent. If you don't like to be blinded you could try to drive within the speed limits.tkt234 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 30, 2018 10:15 amI have a car with Estonian license plate and many times cameras have flashed, but I never gotten a ticket
Once I was driving fast with something like 110 km/h in 70 km/h area and camera flashed, but even for that one I never got a ticket
Some of the cameras have flashed too close and blinded me, so I don't like these cameras.

Re: Speed camera flashed, who gets the ticket?
No arguing about distances, but I haven't seen many times traffic lights that could show more green than they actually show. Maybe added green arrow here and there. Then again I prefer to do my business inside Kehä III with someone else driving, be it railroad engineer or cabbie.
