After looking at the figures which you just shared, it actually looks like that there is a huge percentage of applicants that got rejected.
Does anyone what are the reasons for getting rejected? Is there some reasons that some applications for example get rejected if Migri just doesn't like the applicant?
Any experience?
Re: Finnish Citizenship application 2018
Seems like (sadly) most rejections are from specific parts of the world:
So if a country has war, its citizens are more likely to be rejected?!

Hi all,
My application has been in second stage for over a month, I made application on mid of February. I have not got any clarifications nor any request nor decisions. What does that mean? Does in progress means it is in queue or ?? Are here people having similar situations or experiences?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Finnish Citizenship application 2018
Hello guys,
Finally I am given a negative decision because I was out of Finland for over a year in last 4 years. I was rejected because my continuous residence permit interrupted as I was away from Finland over a year.
Now I am wondering about period of residence information that we can find in at: https://migri.fi/en/how-to-calculate-th ... -residence. Now I am thinking about new application when I have enough period of residence in Finland.
The information tells:
"The following periods of absence from Finland will not interrupt your continuous period of residence, and their time will be calculated as continuous residence time:
absences of a maximum of one month
a maximum of six periods of absence that last 1–2 months each
a maximum of two periods of absence that last 2–6 months each
The following period of absence from Finland will not interrupt your continuous period of residence but it will not be calculated as continuous residence time:
a period of absence that lasts longer than six months but one year at maximum"
Are these conditions for whole four years or for a year? Can you please share your opinion guys.
Thank you.

Sad to hear that. I guess it's for the whole four years.
Did you have one long period of being away?

Re: Finnish Citizenship application 2018
Yes I was away for 13 months and due to that it was interrupted.
But excluding that also or after that, i have already been away for 2 periods of 3 months each. So, if I am away again for 3-4 months then does that matter or to be straight does it interrupt again?

Re: Finnish Citizenship application 2018
My understanding is you have already used this two times limit:
And they won't count your time on B permit in that 7 years I guess:
By the way have you seen this:
If I were you, and I really needed the citizenship, I'd hire a lawyer to give me advice on this.
But I think all in all, now you won't go by the 4 year rule any more, so your total duration of staying in Finland needs to be accumulated:a maximum of two periods of absence that last 2–6 months each
https://migri.fi/en/period-of-residenceyou have lived in Finland for a total of seven years after you turned 15 (accumulated period of residence), with the last two years without interruption.
And they won't count your time on B permit in that 7 years I guess:
The time you have lived in Finland with a temporary residence permit (the B permit) cannot be included in your accumulated period of residence.
By the way have you seen this:
Won't that apply to you?Your period of residence will not be interrupted if your absence is caused by a well-founded personal reason. The reason must be exceptional and unexpected, for example a sudden illness that begins abroad and prevents you from returning to Finland. Taking care of your ill parents or grandparents abroad or in your former home country has not usually been considered to be a well-founded personal reason.
If I were you, and I really needed the citizenship, I'd hire a lawyer to give me advice on this.

Yes, thank you. lets see. I am still open with everything. I think in my case that 4 years thing will come earlier than accumulated period of residence.
Re: Finnish Citizenship application 2018
How does Finland know when you are in another EU country? or do you proactively report it?summercool wrote: ↑Fri Jul 13, 2018 11:09 amYes I was away for 13 months and due to that it was interrupted.
