Hi, Congratulations to everyone who has got their decision! I am finally on stage 2, let's see when things move ahead. I had a questions, does the residence permit automatically become invalid once the citizenship comes through? What is the procedure usually after the citizenship is granted? Do they want you to mail the residence permit to them immediately?

As far as I know Yes. Once you are granted the citizenship, the residence permit will expire.

May I ask how long did you stay in stage one? when did u prove your identity ? where ?

Hi, I applied in January in Helsinki, and it went on 2nd stage last week. No movement or any questions since then.

If you have the residence permit (not the väestörekisteritodistus used for EU people) then yes, you have to return it.

Nope.

The case that I know about is more or less going like this:
15.02.218 identification in Helsinki
12.06.2018 stage 2, in progress
25.06.2018 request for more info on travels and work
29.06.2018 respond to the request was sent.

No updates after that.

I applied for citizenship in the first week in December,2017.My application has been in the second stage for over 5 weeks.It look strange to me,does anyone has similar experience or what do you think might be happening?

Hi everyone,

So, it is finally done! It took close to six months. Here is my update:

I applied in last week of January and the application progressed to stage 2 only in the last week of June. There were queries on latest salary slip and travel. The decision was given today.

hi everyone, i did my identity verification in last week of April in Lahti, when should i expect my application to move to 2nd stage? i am likely to travel next week for a whole month, should i inform about my travel plan to Migri ?

It's guess work, but here people mentioned applications done in Feb which moved to stage 2 in June. So I guess yours will move in August.

But it's just a guess I'd inform Migri anyway.

Definitely inform Migri so they won’t make a decision while you are gone or request information with a deadline that is during your away period.
