Hi all,
Applied for citizenship 06.05,proved my identity on 07.05,still on stage 1:((( My friend applied 23.05,proved 23.05 (Helsinki) and got his decision last week.I have no idea how the process goes...
Hello,

I have exactly same situation. I applied on 6.5 and proved identity also on 7.5 :) on Vaasa. Still on stage 1 too.

Where did you prove your identity ??
Hey-hey, I proved it in Helsinki. So now wondering what is the difference between me and my friend:) Looks like we were assigned to different migri officers maybe....
Good luck with your citizenship application!Hope you will get a decision soon.
I have heard that if your a Brexit affected person, your application may be processed faster...

Almost similar case here, I proved my identity on the 25th of April. I suppose they haven't started on the application for April yet. Could you guys from the beginning of April update here once you move to second stage?

Well,I have 2 colleagues already granted with citizenship:both proved their identity in mid of May.So I think decision time depends on officer assigned to the case.

May I ask if those two persons were English citizens ? If you follow the thread from the beginning you will get a feeling that persons affected by Brexit have their applications processed earlier. However, I would be surprised if anyone from those who are not affected by Brexit would have his application processed if he has applied in May.

Hey-hey,

Nope, both are Russians, so they should not be affected by Brexit.

I'm British and wrote on my application that Brexit will affect me and it hasn't made any difference to the processing time. It looks exactly the same as everyone else. So Migri must just process them in the order that they come in.

I proved my identity in Tampere on 25/04/2018 and it's still in 1st stage.

Hi,
I'd like to apply for citizenship next month, and I want clear information about what are the steps to follow.
I'm going to take an appointment from migri. And apply online for the citizenship .
Can anyone tell me what are the papers that he used while applying.
What does proved my identity mean? And is there an interview?
Thanks everyone.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
