Hay Fever Treatments
Hay Fever Treatments
I am trying to help a friend with bad hay fever. It seems that a lot of the, over the counter in the UK, remedies aren't available in Finland. Has anyone found a good barrier nasal spray like the natural plant silicone powders available in the UK.
Re: Hay Fever Treatments
If it's a bad case of pollen allergy I would go see a doctor instead of using over-the-counter meds.
I personally did not find barrier sprays very helpful, but I have a very strong allergy. I would go with a cortisone nasal spray, antihistamines, and maybe cortisone pills.
You can also ask a pharmacist, they almost always speak English and are very helpful. Just don't ask for anything homeopathic.
Re: Hay Fever Treatments
Isn't that the dilution stuff? Then it would be best just to drink waste water, all the drugs in homeopathic quantities.

I agree, there are just so many countries where pharmacies sell homeopathic treatments to happy customers, relying on the placebo effect. In my home country the pharmacist will almost always offer you homeopathic meds first - I guess the profit margins are good on bottled water!
Thankfully pharmacies in Finland sell medication and not make-believe-treatments.
Re: Hay Fever Treatments
Pharmacies sell everything but drugs. Drugs are sold by the pharmacist. So usually the pharmacist has toiminimi and oy, first one to sell the drugs and latter to sell vitamins, band-aids and all the other non prescription stuff. Bottled water might have good profit margins, but so do all the other stuff pharmacies sell. https://yle.fi/aihe/artikkeli/2015/09/2 ... putulokset
