EU National in need of advice

I'm a 44 y old female with a small son at boarding school and high financial overheads.

I don't want to be on welfare handouts and have had part time job as Personal Assistant to people. While I really enjoy looking after people and I know I'm concentious and good at my job, I always end up being asked to leave the jobs for silly reasons, my current employer's sister wants me to leave as she thinks my looks and dress style don't fit in well with her taste (she's single and has money available whilst I struggle to keep a roof over my head) I will end up losing my home and the last chance of giving my son a much wanted sibling due to financial reasons.

Another teenage client, the mother of the girl wanted me to move in with the family as she could not cope with the younger children and wanted to find someone who could . I only want a sort of secure part time job with holiday and sick pay and decent work conditions and where private life does not matter as I really have commitments I cannot move in with anyone or buy new clothing just to satisfy someone 's kid sister!

I would love to work in a Nursing Home or Care home setting or similar. I have basic Finnish and I'm EU resident but I'm worried that my age and family status (I'm not single) will be a problem. I cannot afford to go back to study either.

Ermmm... I'm a bit confused here. Are you taking about Finland or somewhere else? And you are moving with your partner? As long as you are an EU-educated nurse you just get your certificate approved, take a language test and theres a load of nursing homes around the Helsinki area that have vacancies. Now if you don't have a degree, no shortage of jobs but the pay gets crappier. In any case, what you might be looking is something like these?

thank you for your advice. I already live in Finland since 2010. I have no degree but experience in that sort of work but I don't want to work for families/private employers as there is zero security and they can just make up excuses to ask you to leave and often prefer single people with no ties, so they can work unpaid over time (one client's mother used to call me at weekends to ask me to collect clothes and toys for her new baby she bought on ebay, for no extra pay and threaten to sack me if I refused). I have to have sick and holiday pay and therefore prefer to work for a business as I have no one who can financially help me , not many adults have.

Well, as you see from the Vantaa pages, thats how the "system works" - personal carers are employed by the person. The agencies need to fulfill "standards", so they generally hire nurses. There was a number of care home positions open, not all of them "required" a degree than "preferred", but you can't be hired for a "tenure" that requires a degree, you can only "substitute temporarily" for one, so I'm not too sure about that "security" you seek.
