Its about time I get a proper business accounting program like Quickbooks so that I can manage and track invoices, inventory and bank statements. I called Quickbooks and they do not have anything available in Finland. They have a German version, but its…well…in German which might as well be Aramaic for as all I care. Does the Finlandforum public brain trust know any English language programs out there that would accomplish this? I don't want any Finnish language programs because, even though Im learning conversational Finnish, technical Finnish is a whole new can of worms. I just don’t need the aggravation of breaking out the dictionary every time I want to change a process.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Accounting software in Finland
I was also looking for such software few month ago, but without any success.
I then decided to slowly develop myself such application. For the moment I just have the invoices and clients/suppliers management ready. The expenses management and some VAT reports are still missing.
If at some point I get it ready, I can give it as a freeware or shareware.
Here is the list of finnish companies providing accounting software application:

Time to get Canal+
BTW NeN - why wouldn't Quickbooks work? I mean if they sell it in Germany you can buy the English *language* version and have it run in Euros? So whats then the difference a debet is a credit is a debet is a credit... unless it has fixed VAT rates which I doubt?
Your question sounds a bit like "I need to have Chinese stamps to send a letter to China".

believe me I tried. I called the "customer mis-service" of quickbooks. I asked that very same question, and they said they only sell the german version of QB in german, not in english. so short of breaking out the old berlitz tapes Im SOL.
Oh and Mcowboy: the woman on the line did Texas a GREAT disservice
ME: Im living in finland
Her (heavy accent): Cant you just drive to germany and look there?
Me: Im living in FINLAND.....ok....so...thanks for your help, goodbye.

I used Quickbooks for my accounts in the UK (stopped a couple of years ago when I wound up the company) and if I recall correctly the English version should work just fine. It should allow you to customise pretty much everything as Hank says. Give it a try... order via the internet if the English version can't be tracked down over here.

Re: Accounting software in Finland
I've been using QB for a couple of years and was about to upgrade to their Pro version until I saw the product reviews on Amazon. And judging by the remarks there and above, their support is pretty dire too. I'll be trying Business Accountz which seems the best of a bad bunch.
Seems amazing that the UK (a nation of shopkeepers and small business owners) doesn't have more choice of reputable accounts software at reasonable prices.

Do you guys get any news and recommendations?
I have checked some software but they are quite expensive, not for freelancer.
