Post by WantKnow » Tue Nov 13, 2007 8:49 am

Hello,

I have some ideas in IT, I made some demo software also. I hope to find some investments to start a small company. But how can I apply for adventure investments in Finland?

Thank you in advance

Where are you located?
Why Finland?
and what do you mean by "adventure" investments?

I am employed. I mean whom I can show my demos and where I can find the interested ones.

At least at Helsinki School of Economics facilities have some venture capital -events (though I could not find info on HSE pages in 5 minutes).

Perhaps you should go to tv-program Leijonan kita

But they are not "adventure" investors or angel investors!! They are VCs..

Eqvitec Partners Oy is a privately owned and independent Nordic technology venture capital firm advising Eqvitec funds. Eqvitec funds have in five different funds a capital base of € 440 million which they invest in early and growth stage technology-intensive companies in the Nordic area and support them in their development and expansion.
They dont invest in Seed-funding!!

They certainly invested in my company, back in 2000.

There's also atine group and conor ventures who both give seed money. Another option is Tekes.

Atine has a specific niche..So it depends on this person's IT Business plan fiting with Atine's interests.
and Conor has interests in Seed as well as Early-Stage companies...
But Equitec seems to go after Earl-stage and above..Not seed.
and investing has changed a lot from 2000!

But then again..it all boils down to the actual investment manager that decides..
If you know one, then its easier...if you dont but knows someone who knows someone,... then it could be easy!!
BTW, see is looking for a money to create a startup ( Business plan ready to be executed, Prorotype being created)
Early-Stage is one which is already established company with additional requirements for funding ( At least prototype developed, Business plan being executed).

Thanks for your replies!

At moment, I just hope to get some seed money. Normally, how much can I get?

If you're considering developing it into a business, this place might be a good starting point:

http://www.technopolisventures.fi/index.php?562

They will be able to assess the feasibility of your idea and point you in the direction of financing where appropriate.
