Post by hackoff » Fri Feb 15, 2008 3:04 pm

Hi ,

i got this offer from a company , they offer me testing job with these conditions :

37,5 hours/week

- salary 1946 euros/month

what do you think ? i have my vero card with me and it state that :

Perusprosentti : 11,5
Lisäprosentti : 30,5

do i have to pay 30.5 percents out of my salary of just 11,5 what is the difference , this is my first job contract after some traineeship

If the verokortti percentages were calculated with your actual annual income you'd be receiving this year (including the job offer), you'd be paying 11,5% + 4,44%. If your annual income would be more than what your verokortti is based on, you'd be paying 30,5% + 4,44% for the part above your preliminary annual income.

They will check if you have been taxed enough later.

I suggest you go to local verotoimisto / call them and request a new verokortti based on your new annual income.

Naturally, the tax%calculator would have been able to give you proper answer instead of me just guessing.

What does it say your earning threshold in your tax card is? It should read 1946/month otherwise the percentages don't mean jack.
