100 places / Strawberry pickers

Post by hackoff » Tue Mar 04, 2008 1:01 pm

Vilppula Strawberry Farm needs strawberry pickers (about 100 people)
for the summer 2008. The farm is situated in southern Finland, at Asikkala,
near Lake Päijänne, the centrum of Vääksy and the City of Lahti.

The picking season normally lasts from 5 to 8 weeks (between 10.6. -
20.8.). The picking season varies according the harvest. The length
of the picking workday varies (5.00 A.M.- 5.00 P.M.).

Self-catering accommodation with modern conveniences - kitchen,
bathrooms, sauna.

Please, send the application directly to employer by end of the
March. Late applications are also considered.

Straw and berries dont go together..,

I have worked picking up strawberries for three years and I can agree that the back suffers the most. Wages vary from farm to farm, that means it is better to get to know more information about the farm before you are going to. Also it depends in what pace you pick up strawberries. The faster you do that -more money in ur pocket. Start wage per month is 600, normally if to work the whole month it is possible to get from 1300-2000. I have not met anybody who could make more money.
