It completely depends on the situation.
Do you stay with them, or do you arrange your own lodging?
For what time period (week, months, year?
Is it a job from which you have to sustain yourself or is it a service to a friend?
If it is for longer periods and more job like, you might need a residence permit.
And remember, if she is a resident, she can stay home till the baby is 3yo and collect "aidinraha".
Calculate what you need to live comfortable during your stay and ask that.

See this for openings for "au pair" if that is what you'd be doing :

Funny, gigs abroad seem to pay way better than the domestic ones. Actually that is not funny at all :(

.................................brengun says, not sure if you meant 5 euros per month all in. or 5000, but either would be absurd,.I suggest you put the ball back in her court and ask her what she would be comfortable with, and of course its always your choice. with something like this its often so many other factors that are important ,such as,does it suit you as a springboard to something else? and its always a learning experience for you, as many things are.
nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you,in time.its easy,.the beatles(j lennon)

...and don't forget that if your employer provides you with a room and food, that will be considered a taxable benefit by the Vero people.
