IT Jobs in Finland

Post by tsl.irene » Fri Jan 16, 2015 8:30 am

Hello, all!

I'm currently holding a Malaysian citizenship and since I'm getting married to my Finnish fiancee, I need to get a stable job (preferably in the IT industry and is a full time job). The major problem is that I don't own any working permit at the moment because apparently, I'm not allowed to apply for one unless I have a job waiting in Finland while most Finnish companies prefer hiring foreigners who already have valid working permits. On top of that, the permit processing will take up to 4 months from the date of application.

Hence, I would like to know if anyone here knows any good IT openings in Finland for someone like me so that I can send my applications to them. In my case, I'm willing to pay for the permit processing fee by myself. All I need now is a good job and its offer letter.

Just in case you're wondering about my working experience and stuff, I'm currently working in IBM as an Imaging Specialist (building customized operating systems etc). In addition, I'm also a Microsoft Certified Professional and a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist. Feel free to contact me via email at [email protected] if you're interested in the details and have suitable jobs to offer. :D

In Finland residence permits function also as working permits. The marriage makes you a family member of a Finnish citizen. Why don't you apply in that category?

This is probably the worst place to find a suitable full-time job in the IT field.
Try here to find openings:

Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

@betelgeuse: I will look into that. :)

@adnan: Those are the first few places that I went to and I already threw in some applications there. But thanks!

This is considered a bit of a joke in the IT industry. Maybe include it in a CV but don't put MCP after your name or wear your little badge at the interview.
