Hi
I am an English language teacher (CELTA qualified, experienced, native speaker). What would be a reasonable hourly rate for private tutoring in this country?
Thanks
Hourly rate for private English lessons
Re: Hourly rate for private English lessons
Would that be B2B or just tutoring kids? Do you have a toiminimi and are you charging VAT?

Hi, sorry I didn't see your reply til now, I didn't have notifications on! I meant for tutoring kids and also adults.
If I do this I assume I would have to register a toiminimi?

It depends how much of it you do. If it's less than 10k€ per twelve month period, then all you need to do is declare your income on your annual tax return and you'll stay below the VAT threshold.
I don't know how much you could charge. CELTA is completely unknown here, so doesn't count for much. Usually, the rates are given per 45-minute lesson. Maybe 20€? But I'm a bit out of date. B2B is more lucrative but it's harder to get a foot in the door. As far as teaching adults is concerned, you will be in competition with the adult learning centres (työväenopisto) which charge practically nothing.
