Hi, everyone. I am new here and moved in Finland for about 3 month.
I newly started a business as a tour guide and registed as a self-employed person, I estimated my income is 7000 euros for the first year, that I do not need to pay YEL due to my income is lower than 7600 euro a year. and no pre payment for the tax also.
Last week I paid a visite to Kela, that I would like to have a Kela cark to cover health care for me and my wife.
But, Kela told me as a selfemployed person, without YEL contribution they would not approve my Kela application.
I do not understand how the YEL and Kela works, if any one have any ideal or experience please advice on this issue.
many thanks.

Re: Kela card and YEL
Public health care is for the most part covered by municipality of residence, not Kela. What Kela handles is listed here:joe2010 wrote:Last week I paid a visite to Kela, that I would like to have a Kela cark to cover health care for me and my wife.
