Finlex Data Bank

With reference to the right of any EU citizen living and working in Finland
who is in the following

Condition(s) :

(1) Having been permanently residing and working in Finland for more than 5 years
(2) Being already enrolled in the Kela insurance and pension system

QUESTION(s) :

(a) Is there any risk at all, albeit remote, for permanently residents to be deported in case one applies for any benefit (medical/labor market)
while between jobs ?

(b) Which are the relevant articles/ norms/ piece of legislation regulating the aforementioned matter.

Best Regards.

No.

This one (which has its basis in EU law):
(2) EU citizens who have been granted a right of permanent residence, or their family members who have been granted a permanent residence card, may only be deported on serious grounds of public order or security.
From section 168 of the Aliens Act.

And that pretty much settles the question.

Thanks Betelgeuse.
