I was moaning at breakfast looking out of the window at the prospect of yet another wet gloomy start to October. When Maippi smiled and said ."but be positive..on some point.. for instance It is the Herring Market this weekend..!"
This historic festival has been held in the market square by the harbour for as long as can be remembered.
The boats arrive today from the islands all around the south and south west coast and offer their many different flavoured herring and black bread.
It get a bit crowded but is well worth a visit.
I think I will visit before I seak out the Hank and a bar to wash away the fishy taste.
