There are about 4 million Americans overseas, so your vote DOES count!
Regime Change 2004
Wasn't it so that Bush had been tempering with the overseas votes last election?
What makes you think he doesn't do it again?
You can have 20 million overseas voters, but if none of the votes reaches shore, then it doesn't really help...
In that regard it would've been better if the US was the least corrupt country instead of Finland...

Speaking of which I just ran across this site which argues that the US culture is built to cheat...Arno wrote: In that regard it would've been better if the US was the least corrupt country instead of Finland...

here's an example:
Q. Why are people cheating so much?
A. To start with, we live in a winner-take-all society. Winners get paid more these days, so people will do whatever it takes to be a winner. Meanwhile, everyone is under more pressure to perform well starting from a young age, in school, and extending into the workplace so that they are not left behind by the economy. That kind of stress provides a lot of incentive to cut corners. And I look at two other reasons for cheating: government watchdogs haven't been given enough resources to enforce the law, and many Americans are cynical that the rules in our society are fair, so they feel it's justified to cheat. As I see it, all of these reasons are related to the overarching trend in American society toward more free market competition. We’ve become a society divided between a Winning Class that is richer than ever and often cheats because it can get away with it. And an Anxious Class that cheats to move up in the world – or just stay afloat.
As I recall, his people made sure that all the troops abroad voted. And since the average US sqauddie is much more likely to vote for Bush than not, it worked out well for them.Arno wrote:Wasn't it so that Bush had been tempering with the overseas votes last election?

Don't know if you can call it tampering, but it was sneaky (or shrewd, depending on how you see it )

Nah, you're not a Dem Olly, you're a Nader Raider. http://www.votenader.orgAce wrote:You'd have my vote if I was American
Couldn't really find anything on that page, that says anything about anything, although when I do vote in elections, it is always for a serious party who stands a chance.Phil wrote:Nah, you're not a Dem Olly, you're a Nader Raider. http://www.votenader.orgAce wrote:You'd have my vote if I was American
In the USA there are only two real choices and I'd never vote republican
