I have spoken Finnish all my life and when I took a 'writing' course 2 years ago, I was totally lost! My mom came to one class (natvie Finnish speaker) and was totally lost!

I find that many of the courses here teach the 'kirjakieli' that no one really speaks...I certainly don't and until I say so, no one knows I'm not a Finn. So, if it's just a matter of 'getting by' with the language, I wouldn't worry so much about perfect grammar and that....no one else really does. Finnish is a hard enough language as it is without making it worse by adding all kinds of stress onto yourself worrying about nit-picky things.

Just my two cents worth

Try to have a look on this site they have a lot of places that you could do Finnish classes.

Good luck,
