To non finnish. "En haluaisi muistuttaa valastanne" could be "i dont want remind you for your whale" or "i dont want to remind you for your oath"
valastanne = your whale or your oath.

One of my favourites:

For those who do not master the Finnish language:

"At those times I owned the first car in Fingerpori"

"I once drove a little tipsy against reds" (meaning overriding a red traffic light)

"The surviving reds were pretty much angry" (meaning "reds" as opposite of "whites" describing people with a certain political mindset. Remember, the civil war eg. was the reds against the whites.)

Isn't it actually a little more subtile: It could mean "I don't want remind you for your oath" or "I don't want to look like your whale" Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not a native speaker either.

Thats correct, muistuttaa is to remind or look like as you said. My mistake :)

Yep, muistuttaa has two basic meanings:
  1. “to remind (someone of something)”

    or
  2. “to resemble (someone or something)”, “to be reminiscent (of someone or something)”
Valastanne, on the other hand, could either be the word vala (“oath”) in the elative singular (valasta) + the 2nd person plural possessive suffix (-nne), or the the word valas (“whale”) in the partitive singular + the same. The whale in the picture frame has certain likeness to one of the men...

Ok, I get the pun, but is there somethng like "viemäreiden kuvaus" in real live? I always thought that there is an intended type error, so it is "kuvaus" instead of "kuivaus", meaning (sewage) drying.
