Wanted testees for a phonetics project

Post by tuijaE » Mon Mar 08, 2004 10:17 pm

Greetings
I am forwarding the following message in case someone here is interested in participating in the project. I don't have anything to do with the project though so if you are interested, throw an email to [email protected].

*****************************************
Wanted!

At Helsinki University Department of Phonetics we have a project which
deals with language detection. For that we need to record a database
which contains different languages. The languages we especially would
like to record are

English German French
Somali Chinese Persian
Arabic Turkish Polish
Albanian Spanish Hungarian
Kurdish Thai Vietnamese
Serbian
Croatian

The recordings are carried out during March 2004 either at the
Department of Phonetics in Kruununhaka or some other appropriate place
at university. The recording takes about 15 minutes. Charge is paid to
subjects.

If you want to give your voice to speech database (anonymous, naturally)
please send e-mail to [email protected]. If you know someone who
might be interested in recordings, don't hesitate to forward this
message. Other than university students are welcome to recordings, too!
