Anyone taking Finnish classes at Arcada or HUT?

Last year when I was researching various Finnish language classes, HUT only offered classes during the day.....nothing in the evenings.

I'd be surprised if Arcada offers Finnish courses:
We are especially concerned with the following issues:

The Swedish language in Finland
Arcada is a Swedish polytechnic in Finland. We look after the interests of the Finland-Swedish population in everything we do. As a linguistic minority school we have a national responsibility to do so.

I don't know whether it is this Swedish school or another one, but they do have Finnish courses and good ones too. But, not meant for you.

These are solely meant for Swedish students, who went to a swedish secondary school, learnt there Finnish and then they have to complete their knowledge of Finnish.

If you are a student at HY, the language institute there has also Finnish courses specially for the students who have Swedish as their native tongue. It is somewhere on their website with the name 'toinen kotimainen'.

Usually these courses donot fit those who have English as their native tongue.

HUT has evening classes

Post by distantspaces » Mon Aug 25, 2003 8:27 pm

Hi,

I have been checking the HUT schedules, and apparently they do have classes in evenings this semester. In the following schedule, Batch D might suit people who are working full time. I am myself planning to take classes there, once registration opens.

Hope this helps!
