Other compound verbs like nauraa hihittää?

Post by AldenG » Thu Jul 13, 2017 1:13 am

Can anybody think of other compound verbs that work like nauraa hihittää?

(Tyttö nauraa hihitti, tytöt nauraa hihittivät, tytöt juoksivat nauraa hihittäen...)

I have a vague sense that I used to know at least one other example related to a manner of walking, but I'm thinking this probably isn't all that uncommon a type of formation -- only one I no longer encounter these days from my fortress of solitude. I'd like to find other examples of it that sound reasonably uncontrived.

As he persisted, I was obliged to tootle him gently at first and then, seeing no improvement, to trumpet him vigorously with my horn.

Oh my God -- that's only 5 years ago! Now I'm really worried about my memory.

I guess some day soon I should reread all the Kiekikoulu threads where I've participated. Or all of them regardless.

Hey, that’s several lifetimes in Internet years!
