Well, a friend of mine told me: "There is a really good place where lots of foraigners in Finland help each other, go and check it, it's pretty cool"
Then I got here and the end.

Gosh, this is all a bit challenging! I suppose 'post a reply' means "send a message'!
I found this site via Google and the effects of a decent Australian red(under which I'm still labouring...)Have you got a category for that?

FOUND IT!!!

Post by kwallette » Sat Oct 25, 2003 5:04 pm

I was searching feverishly on Google for any assistance in relocation to Finland. Had some extra time while in Finland during the days as my boyfriend was working. Decided to try and get a head start, if that is even possible, on relocation shortly after the verdict came in that I was moving.

Let's see if I post this in the right place, first of all. :P

I found out about this site when travelling through Helsinki. I've wanted to teach English in Finland for some time, so the trip was a good chance to dip my toes into the water.

In one of the hostels I visited, there was a lady named Dani who was looking for work from Belgium, and she allowed me to copy down about 50 sites from the materials that she had (really, she was quite a sweetheart for letting me do so). I read over the site a few times while I was in Finland, and, now that I am at home, I will take the time to read that much more on this site. Hopefully it will teach me as much as care to learn about Finland.

Thanks for all the help so far!
Pleased to meet you!

:D

i typed in 'english speaking finland' and bam, there you were. i don't really know what my initial search was for, however, it was definetly a delightful outcome. i feel a little less nervous about the move over. not that i am too nervous, it's just getting close. one week today! hope to meet some of you eventually.

I arrived here following a link in an article in the online, international edition of the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.

I'm a periodic visitor to Finland . . . who wishes to some day be a permanent resident.
