LIST OF MOVERS

Postby nhannan » Mon Nov 03, 2003 9:46 am

Hello,
I am moving from Lauttasaari to Westend end of Nov 03 and wanted to see if anyone has had experience (personel move - not a company move).

Can you please recommend any movers, cost, etc.
Thank you

I've helped two people move recently (one from Lauttasaari to Espoolahti incidently) They both rented a van from the local petrol station and enlisted the help of their friends.

I think it is quite the norm to move this way. To rent a van for cash and a team for pizza

It has been known for fellow .'ers to help each over out when moving house. So if you don't know many people in Finland maybe there will be some help here. I may be available at the end of the month anyway.

Moving

I would be happy to provide lunch and drinks, but the only problem may be - the date.

We would like to move on either Wed or Thur Nov 26 or 27

For some odd reason the vans are due to some mysterious coincidence always rented out on the 30-31st, especially over a weekend, so finding a mid-week rental is much easier. Would recommend booking beforehand. Esso station has pretty decent rates and if lucky you might get a newer one (I had one with 30km in the meter...)

BTW you guys know in most union agreements 'moving day' is a paid holiday?

I'm pretty flex. The way it looks now I don't have anything planned there, so I can help out
