Why on earth did you do this?
For fun.

Samppa,
it is just a collection of letters. The word means nothing.

The longest word in Finnish that is also used in practice is a day-night electricity meter. It has about 70 lettres.

According to what I read from here http://www.finnsnw.org/etc.html (no idea how reliable the source is) the longest finnish word is:

lentokonesuihkuturbiinimoottoriapumekaanikkoaliupseerioppilas

"according to theFinnish edition of Guinness Bokk of Records) which has 61 characters and translates approximately to technical warrant officer trainee specialized in aircraft jet engines. This word has actually been in use in the Finnish Air Force."

Samppa, your ÄÄÄ's and ÖÖÖ's come out in Hebrew :mrgreen: But yes, Finnish is this kind of language you can invent words like that, which are totally useless.

taateli = date
taatelikakku = date cake
kirsikkataatelikakku= cherry date cake
sitruunakirsikkataatelikakku = lemon cherry date cake
sitruunakirsikkataatelikakkukondiittori = lemon cherry date cake confectioner
sitruunakirsikkataatelikakkukondiittorioppilas= lemon cherry date cake confectioner student

The trick of the "longest word" is how much you can continue with it still being "legit". That word you gave ain't. Try translating it though :mrgreen:

After all, on my wall there is a 'kaksitariffikolmivaihevaihtovirtakilowattituntimittari' :ochesey:

Supercallifragilisticexpialidocious... or something of the sort. They have their own beauty these long words. There is a game I know, called "hanging game" :-): you have to think up a word, long if possible and the other player should have a few chances to guess it. The chances end up when you have drawn a hanging place and a hung man and all accesories to hang him, naturally and set fire then.... hehehe!

The longest word in the Finnish language, that isn't a compound word, is 'epaejaerjestelmaellistyttaemaettoemyydellaensaekaeaen'.

In English it means 'even with their lack of ability to disorganize'.

...oh man, I'm SO glad I know that now, there's been so many times when I've needed to say 'even with their lack of ability to disorganize' in one word!!!

8) Freckles.

No one uses that word. I can not say if it is correctly constructed or not though I am a native speaker.

I am sorry to say that you are all wrong, the longest word in the whole wide world is a simple one that we all learnt at school. It is SMILES, an 'S' at the beginning, an 'S' at the end and a MILE from start to finish! :lol: :lol:
