Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.

Define "average".
Say a luxury import vehichle: Crysler Neon 2.0 M5 = 21600 €
(spmething we can drool about: )Chrysler Crossfire 3.2 V6 M6 = 56000€
Mid-range:
HYUNDAI Accent 1.6 GLS 5d 1599 cm3 16300
So average = reality is atleast for me
LADA Samara HB 1500i 3d 1499 cm3 9290 €
But then again I'd rather eat worms than drive a lada.

Yeah, we had this exchange student I was in Helsinki, first time outside the USA, and he exclaimed - "Oh you all must be rich here". I was like "howcome". "Everyone is driving imports". So there was some Caprice and a Saab in the traffic lights... and I went: *that* is an import; and *that* is a domestic brand... and then whizzed past a Saab police car his eyes popped out...dusty_bin wrote:A Neon is a student car in the real world!

I bought a 'good cheap car' last year - hell of an expensive when you need to keep patching it up and fixing it and feeding it petrol, but at least it was cheap to buy and that was the main thing. Oh, and it has been to the moon and back about 17 times, which is another thing you can add to Hanks 'list of averages'Penny wrote:When we were in Finland earlier this year we bought a Ford Escort for under €1000. It was a great little car and was from a car yard. You can spend more of course if you want to, but there are good cheap cars available.

The one that got me was the Mercedes taxis. We had to take a cab to her parents, so we go outside to wait for the one we called. When the Mercedes pulled up, I looked to her and said, "Christ, this cab ride is going to cost a small fortune. A CL500??? Damn."
I just didn't realize at that time, that that was common in Finland and the ride only cost 11euros.

Well, thats because a taxi can get the car tax (used to be 120%) rebated, drive the car into !"#¤%, and still sell it after 2 years 200.000 km with a profit. A M-B is a M-B you know...
If I ever get rich I'll have one...

I would suggest looking on the internet at the car prices here. If you decide to bring a car with you, bring something that will sell in Finland. I imported a car for the US and sold it 4 years later for about 4000 more than what I paid for it originally. Certainly, "lowered" the cost of owning and operating a car here.
2nd hand motors
If anyone wants a good 2nd hand motor, I know somebody who knows somebody else ...who imports german cars to re-sell (of the auto-bahn stormer type) It goes on quite alot 'round here.
Hands up who thought all those 3 and 5 series were genuine finnish imports... hummm? thats how I found out, at least those 'wacky racers' you see up-starts drive are probably german imports.
i'm not jealous....honest... well maybe just a bit
