Quitting school- what happens to residence permit?

Post by dar1us » Thu Dec 06, 2007 10:36 pm

Hi,

I was admitted to HUT last summer, so I got a residence permit for a year. Then upon reviewing my options I decided to continue studies back home.

If I want to visit Finland during the validity period of this permit, would it be a problem? I mean if I'm apparently studying in HUT but haven't been in Finland for 3 months :) I'm still registered in the school though, just not studying anything.

Do they cancel residence permits of students who don't complete courses, or do they just not give a new one?

Thanks a lot!

You can visit FI aslong as u r students residence permit is valid. But it might not be possible to get a new one after the expiry of u r current permit cos UVI doesnt give permit for peeps who didnt study.
