I also discovered . via the International edition of Helsingin Sanomat. I have been here for over two years, and although I mix with quite a few ex-pats I had never heard of this site. I found ranska.net quite helpful though, same kind of thing in French, more chatty maybe, less informative though. I write a monthly newsletter for the BWA (women's group for English speaking ex-pats in Helsinki), so I will definitely plug this website in the next edition.

I typed "learn finnish" in google, and voilá. really glad to have found this forum :D It's quite informative. I always have been interested in finland, so since I met a finnish friend I´ve decided to "opin suomea", kielikoulu works perfectly. Kiitos

Hallo!

This is my first time here :D

I found this site when I was looking for sites under the topic "Learn Finnish". So .. Now you're stuck with me.

Btw .. I'm looking for ways to learn Finnish though selfstudy. I'm moving to Finland from August, and I guess I need to learn as much Finnish as possible.

Hi,

I've always been looking for a proper site to learn finnish an easy way...
A week ago I got a hint via my girlfriends work, one of her Finnish colleagues recommended http://www.finnishschool.com.

Through there I came in this wonderful world of good hints and just good entertainment.

So basically I found it via friends. :)

I didn't discover . this way (as I joined before leaving the UK) but it was nice to see a . poster that someone had put up in the language centre here at Jyväskylän Yliopisto!!!

back to the books now - why can't there be a pill that I can swallow that would make me wake up tomorrow speaking fluent Suomi-speak???!!!!
