You have obviously never travelled and lived in another country long enough to realise the stresses of working and living in a different cultural environment. Telling people that they are not welcome based on their disabilities, the colour of their skin or other sad pathetic such reason's is not the purpose of such a forum surely ? Why are you here? I mean what are you really bring to this forum?

I have noticed the only support you seem to be getting is from young uneducated males from other countries...I don't see so many Finn's supporting you racist views! Its such a shame that you could be some peoples first impression of Finland that come to the forum. That big shame about you being here!

Many finns tone down their opinions if they even express them, but it doesn't change their opinion. I would say that Finland is fairly racist country, but the racism is well hidden. Or not so well... ask what southeastern finns like about russians.

In my opinion Onkko's writings give a good picture of what "common man" thinks. Man who normally would not say those things to foreigner (unless really drunk) but would say to friend or to work mate. This is not a travel forum which tries to get people to travel Finland and because of that I would say that this forum _needs_ people like Hank and Onkko who paint the worst case scenarios and break the bubbles. Of course one can do it more or less bluntly, but I would guess that Onkko's apparent bluntness or harshness (racism?) is more because of his English skills, not because of his abnormal views.

And back to the topic: I would guess that easiest way to get residence permit is indeed marriage, but please do put a job you have lined up as a argument to your RP application too

I have tended to view the opinions expressed in some posts on this forum as more xenophobic than racist. Not to say that there aren't people with racist views in Finland (they exist in every country), but the overall impression I get about how Finns respond to non-Finns just seems to fall more in the phobic catergory.

Just remember that marriage is not automatic RP.

You need to prove, notice that it is you who needs to prove, that you have been living with her for 2 years.

They, migri that is, can and will refuse residence permit based on marriage if they think it is only for sake of getting RP.

You dont have to live 2 years together or anything like that,you just have to proove that its not fake marriage just to get in Finland

But Darkat i tell you here will be difficult for you...language problem and being unemplooyed till you learn the language sucks! as a foreigner i face it pretty well now though i start to get my unemplooyed money really soon but still i would prefer to work instead of sitting home and one other thing is that this place has something in it that makes depression i like it here but sometimes its just weird :S
