Information needed about photo studio

Post by sanam_bl » Thu Sep 30, 2010 4:40 pm

Hi,

I would like to take a family portrait with some good background.
Can anyone please suggest me a cheap and best photo studio and off course good work :) . (In Helsinki or Espoo)
Any idea how much might it cost?

Regards,
Sanam

Glen J Nelson ( Australian ) is one alternative :

Click on "Family Portraits" under "Information" !

He is very good but maybe not cheap.

Can’t recommend anything in particular but here’s a list of photo studios in the capital region. I guess you should be prepared to pay something like 80...150 euros (or more) for family portrait photography, depending on how elaborate rigging, lighting and props setup you want and if it’s going to be a studio photo shoot or something shot “on location”, the length of the session etc.

Hi Sanam!
I'm a semi-pro photographer, and have my own studio in Lauttasaari (Helsinki). It's not a big place though, so it becomes difficult if you are more than 5-6 people. But we could try.
My website is Alberto Mardegan photography, Helsinki but it's still work in progress; more pictures are in my flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mardytardi/

I don't do much paid work, and I prefer to be paid with a free donation, only if you are satisfied with the pictures (but if you prefer I'll say a price).
Feel free to contact me via private message or at my e-mail: photo (at) mardy.it

I have read through the forum rules, and not found out, whether folks here rather have old threads revived, or a new thread opened. Or maybe I am blind. Since I find it easier for those among us who actually use the search function, I will be going with the first style. Please inform, if that is frowned upon on this forum.

I am looking for a photo studio for a photo to attach to my CV. Glen J Nelson seems out of business, and while Alberto's photos are cute (the male population may find other words ;) ) it is not exactly the style I would want on my CV. It seems the prices are hefty, at least at the studio that did my ID photos, and the patience with my wishes seemed rather thin in comparison. Ideally for the price, I would want a photographer who lets me check the little makeup I plan to use, is not visibly in a huge hurry to get me out of the studio the second I stepped in, and is willing to do maybe 2, 3 or even 4 takes so I can choose the best. Apart of being a professional with light, background, and all that, of course.

Anyone here who has any experience with a studio? Can be larger Helsinki Area.
