WANTED: PLACE TO RENT OR HOUSE SWOP FOR A YEAR

IF ANYONE HAS GOOD ADVICE ON WHERE TO RENT IN FINLAND, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GET ON TOUCH.
MY HUSBAND IS DUE TO BEGIN A JOB ON 1ST FEB IN HELSINKI.CONTRACT LASTING A YEAR.
IDEALLY WE WOULD LIKE TO FIND A PLACE BIG ENOUGH FOR FAMILY TO COME VISIT, BUT CHEAP ENOUGH WE CAN ENJOY A GOOD STANDARD OF LIVING.
SHORT COMMUTE.SO EITHER IN CITY CENTRE OR 10-15 MIN TRAIN JOURNEY AWAY.
CLOSE TO RESTAURANTS ETC.
WE ARE OPEN TO IDEA OF A HOUSESWOP IF THERE IS ANYONE INTERESTED?
WE ARE BASED IN BELFAST AND LOCATED TEN MINS OUTSIDE THE CITY CENTRE IN A BUSTLING SUBURB.2 BEDROOM BOUTIQUE HOUSE WITH 2 BEDROOMS,ONE VERY SPACIOUS. WITH 3 RECEPTION ROOMS AND CITY GARDEN/PATIO AREA.
IN OUR 35 YEARS HERE WE HAVE WITNESSED VERY LITTLE OF THE TROUBLES,AS THINGS HAVE CALMED DOWN NOW BELFAST IS NOW IN THE TOP TEN PLACES TO VISIT IN THE WORLD.
WHERE WE ARE BASED PROVIDES EASY ACCESS TO THE REST OF IRELAND AND ALL ITS CHARMS...2HOURS FROM GIANTS CAUSEWAY OR DUBLIN. AND 45MINS FROM MOUNTAINS OF MOURNE. YOU ARE NEVER FAR FROM THE SEA IN IRELAND EITHER.
WE LOVE IT HERE, BUT THIS JOB OPPORTUNITY IS TOO GOOD TO MISS.
IF ANYONE FANCIES A YEARS ADVENTURE, OR EVEN 6 MONTHS..OR HAS ANY GOOD RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ACCOMODATION PLEASE GET IN TOUCH.

OP, you should also consider turning your caps lock key off, you are breaking forum rule nr2. Your text looks aggressive and annoying to read.

You probably want to show pictures of your nice house and nice area because everyone just thinks Belfast is a sh1thole with paintings of balaclavas everywhere. I know its not I've been there, but to anyone else this is the common stereotype. To be brutally honest your probably best renting it out locally I just can't see many people swapping Finland for Belfast.

Well if the husband's job is in Helsinki, I'd suppose someplace like Nuorgam or Sevettijärvi.

@mrjimsfc any advice on areas around helsinki , with an easy commute to the city centre, or in the centre itself.
To be honest we know very little about the surrounding area..this has all happened very suddenly. The last thing we want to do is settle in an area and live to regret it.
I shall investigate those areas, thank-you

@ Evertony yes this is good idea..i honestly do love belfast and everyone who visits does too. Once the madness of christmas holidays are over i will post some pics.

When abroad i have been shocked by the coverage of local events, it is unrecognisable to me the way it is portrayed on the news...It is a quirky city with world class beaches in easy reach, mountains, green fields,and the people are really friendly. (just not the ones you see on the news

)

The thing is, if you bringing a car over or not - but Helsinki traffic sucks, and if the job is "in city" theres no parking so its public transport. And I doubt even a NI car can take Finnish winter. What you dont want to do is live in boonies A and work in boonies B as crosstown traffic sucks - even more if you are on public transport. So really, the first thing is after looking at houses on say www.oikotie.fi to go to the routeplanner www.reittiopas.fi/en/ and check if you can get to work in the morning and back home.

Renting a "house" is a bit rare - firstly we don't have as much "houses" rather than flats... what is your budget per month, lets start with that. And if you know the job address that'd help too.

Luckily my husbands company will be offering us access to a relocation company who should take care of it.
I just thought i might find somewhere less corporate on here, somewhere i would be allowed to bring my cats to, as id dearly love to bring them .
