You simply submit your application and forget about it and get on with your life and when it happens.. it happens! Thinking about it all the time is nerve wrecking plus calling them won't really help. I believe they run background checks before forwarding it to migri and some checks take more time than others. If you're a permanent resident then you shouldn't dwell so much on the processing time since you have the same rights as a citizen ... with a few exceptions of course.

As you or I have no idea how many working hours they have available for that task, impossible to say. I'd follow the previous advice, there is nothing you can do anyway with situation anyway.

Wow do you mean the procedure at Poliisi or at maahanmuttovirasto? I don't understand why poliisi takes so long because the main part of Finnish citizenship handling is at maahanmuttovirasto if I am correct? In Helsinki or uusima , my friend told me it is quicker than in some city....

Quick between 1 and 2 years is a difference...

As a Finn, I would say: "those who wait, shall get"

If I was working in MIGRI, definitely any questions would go to the bottom of the pile....
After all, theres guys been waiting and not annoying us who are in the queue, so.... > pohjalle
I don't work for <<MIGRI or SUPO though, so y'all still f*d, I'm MI6

Stop being so bloody lazy, look around on the forums there are hundreds of threads with the same question. It takes ages, this is a citizenship application not an RP. There is a lot to consider in letting you be a full fledged citizen of Finland.
I̶f I can find any way to insult someone, believe me I will.

Evidently you haven't read this

obotouch wrote:Hi,

I have submitted my Finnish citizenship application to police in August 2010. I rang migri last week and they said they just received my application in August 2011 from Police. Its really strange it took so long and now they dont know how long its going to take to make decision :(.

I havent done anything bad in Finland and been working and paying taxes and been studying and lived here now almost 10 years. I wonder why the application stayed in police for year

So settle down.
