HY Faculty of Arts results

Hi everyone!

So, i've applied for the MA in English Philology at Helsinki Uni, and I'm anxiously waiting for my results.
I just wanted to ease my mind a bit by asking if anyone here knows:

1. Does the faculty send you an acceptance/rejection by e-mail or regular mail?
2. When do they usually send the results, i.e. when do they arrive? (The uni website says all the results are usually sent in April, but now that the month is halfway through I'm already starting to bite my nails )

Hi!

I've almost finished my Bachelors degree in English Philology at the University of Helsinki.

Usually letters of acceptance/rejection are sent by surface mail (post), so if you are living overseas it may take a bit longer to receive it.

I can't say exactly when letters are sent out, only that they are often sent out late, so don't worry too much yet!

I just checked the graduate students admissions website, here is a quote directly from there:


" Information on student selections will be available from the faculties of the University of Helsinki usually in April. Every applicant accepted for studies is sent a letter of acceptance by email and/or regular mail. Some Faculties post the information on their website, if the applicant has given permissions to do so. No fixed date can be given when the results are sent out – there is variation on the exact date from a faculty to another. If you have not received any information by early May, it is best to contact the faculty's international coordinator directly."

Yeah, that quote was my only insight into the whole situation so far, I haven't been able to find any info other than that and I combed thought the whole university website.

What you said was very helpful though, so thanks a lot! I'll be sure to check my postbox every day I live in Croatia, so hopefully it shouldn't take too long for the letter to arrive.
