Because:
a) the pay is shyte
b) Dublin is more expensive than Helsinki

What I do suggest though is contact the Finnish polytechnics that have IT courses. They have some sort of international bureau/person whatever. The polytechnics require students to do 3 months "work experience" before they do their final year + thesis, so you could get "work experience" staff nicely..

The pay offered is above the industry average.

I thank you for your input however we are looking for people to stay at least 1 year.

3 months would not be long enough to gain the relevant training and knowledge to do the job.

€22,000 per year plus €700 relocation bonus?

A reality check mate - if people on the dole in Finland get more than the Irish "industry standard" pays, why would they want to move? I'd still target the students as they are desperate for the first job, as you can't get experience without having a job, and you don't get hired unless you got experience...

Holidays are fully paid for this position.

Our candidates rent is usually 350-450€ per month.

We are not saying that people will make major amounts of money by relocating.

They will however gain experience in one of the worlds largest IT companys as well as getting the chance to work another country.

Do you also give a "holiday bonus"? Here it is typically around half of your salary for your holiday weeks, and is additional to normal holiday pay.

A shared house prolly. IBM's sweatshop is in D15 if I remember correctly... not that bad, actually. I think I was looking at D24 the year before last.

@onkko The accomodation is a shared house in the Dublin 15 area. It is within walking distance of IBM. It is also located only minutes from one of Dublins largest shopping centres http://www.blanchardstowncentre.ie/ and only a half hour by bus to the city centre.

@Pursuivant Dublin 24 would be over a 2 hour commute to IBM and refering to IBM as a sweatshop is a ridiculous comparisson. Your point of Finnish salarys is also pointless in this context as the jobs are not in Finland.

Is the job only meant for Finnish citizens ?

No the job is for anyone who can legally work in the EU and speaks Fluent Finnish.

I was sure the one good thing about the recession in Ireland and the uptake of services such as Linkdin would have killed these off.

I now quite a few people who have taken up similar positions in Cork and well if you look at it like a holiday where you work abroad then maybe it might be ok,
But as an Irish living in Finland now for three years I wouldn't take that job even if my Finish was up to scratch.
Blanch is far from one of the premium shopping centres in Dublin too..well maybe if your into tracksuits :wink:

But if you are a Finn or anyone who would consider a move to Ireland there is however many good jobs going in the Tech industry and it's probably one of the only sectors to keep expanding. What else would I compare a callcentre with? A canning factory? Reading a script filling in your quota, being hounded for spending too much time on the phone not allowed loo or fag breaks... yeah, luxury job surely.
