A very interesting story about Hartwall brewery, and congratulations to Hartwall, but too bad about closing Lappeenranta brewery.

Konevitsan kirkonkellot

Too bad that the YouTube sound track is so noisy!

Finnish, Estonian, or Russian? A Russian student in a Finnish school? The description on YouTube is not clear, but anyway...

The Russian gusli is quite similar to the Finnish kantele. Olga Shishkina, gusli

Edit: This is an exceptional performance, brilliant!

The Finnish entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 — Pernilla Karlsson’s När jag blundar— which unfortunately didn’t qualify for the final:

[Other versions on Youtube] [Spotify link] [English translation of the lyrics]

(Yes, it’s in Swedish, Pernilla’s mother tongue. Pernilla is a Swedish-speaking Finn, or a Finland-Swede. The song was originally written by her brother for their mother’s birthday party.)

Here she is, once again. A Russian recorded in Finland? But so VERY good!

Same artist, same melody, but this time recorded in Lithuania

Värttinä - Oi dai

The woman in the red dress is one of the Kaasinen sisters, of the original Värttinä group.

Ah, but you all heard of Loituma?
But have you heard the "original"?("lumberjack/lumberfloat romance comedies" were very popular movie genre in the 50's)

As far the dancing goes, thse guys were stiff, here's breakdancing from the 1890's

Attention musicians, once again ...

This piece settles into a fast 5/4 time: Tammi (The Oak) - Värttinä

And from the same Värttinä album ...

This piece settles into a slower, more relaxed 5/4 time: Niin mie mieltynen (The Beloved) - Värttinä

You have already heard this one, as posted above, but here Mari Kaasinen takes the lead.

Värttinä - Kylä vuotti uutta kuuta

Sorry, but the YouTube soundtrack is not good, too noisy.
