Is it your dish precisely oriented towards Hotbird?

The frequencies, polarization modes, FEQ, encryption levels, etc. for the active channels
you find in the Lyngsat pages is posted earlier.

satellite speaks Finnish Hotbird @13 Deg East...But antenni speaks 7Deg to Sirius...
Program your satellite to hotbird..and if there is signal but no laatu ( quality)..then mostly wrong satellite..
Try other satellite in the receiver and see if you receive sirius programs.. Then you are pointing to Sirius or Thor..
Most common mistake that people make.

Hi. Great that I found this forum. I bought a digibox one year ago from Gigantti (Handan DVB-C9800). Does anyone know if this digibox would do the job if I want to get "sky Digital" services which are now available in Finland? Sky Digital in Finland is telling me that I need to buy their own digibox because my digibox receiver is not compatible with they sky viewing card. I don't know if I should buy their digibox and spend another 250 euros =( Are there any satellite dishes compatible with my digibox? Anyone knows?

Well....there are a few things that you should know:

1. Sky does not provide services outside UK and Ireland. There is a number of "grey" suppliers of viewing cards acting as unofficial middlemen. In reality all viewing cards supplied by grey providers are registered in UK to local UK residents. It is a bit unofficial, but of course not really illegal - since you still pay to SKY (and a little bit to the middleman).
2.In Sky encoding system (Videoguard) a card is "married" to the receiver, hence you do need an original receiver or an emulator wich still should bear the serial number of the receiver pegged to the card.
3. In Finland you will be able to see approximately 90 per cent of channels with exclusion of BBC packcage and a number of others. Most HD and 3D will work. Minimum dish size 1,6 meters (I recommend 2,2 meters). With a dish of smaller size you will get less channels.

Still the best solution, provided that you have friends in UK - get subscription there. You will get a free receiver with a 2 year subscription (offers for packcages change all the time, but still...). Additionally it will be easier for you to exchange your viewing card in case it stops working etc.
What do you want from me?????
