Hei guys.
I'm looking for some proper British style sausages, and any other tastes of home that may be around.
Any suggestions?

No sausages , make them yourself , check out www.behnfords.fi

Brennecke's saksalainen minibratwursti (green plastic packet) from citymarket are the closest I've found. They are precooked and a bit anaemic looking but give them a bit of colour in the frying pan and they are ok.
It is what it is, make of it what you will.

Trying to find an English styled sausage here in Finland is like chasing a pot of gold at the end of rainbow, best to make your own. That way you also get to play with flavours.

Kiwijim, I agree with your assessment of the above product, it's not bad, however if you have access to a Heino tukku card you can find in the same section (as the Brenneke) a similar product a nice fat bratwurst sorry I can't remember the brand but it is very close to a British pork sausage and not garlicky at all, I was a chef here (Finland) for sixteen years and I've tried them all this one is very closekiwijim wrote:Trying to find an English styled sausage here in Finland is like chasing a pot of gold at the end of rainbow, best to make your own. Re: British Food
Look for some of the small producers like West Chark. Their sausages are available in Helsinki nowadays. Expensive but really good quality and local.

Lidl sometimes has something OK-ish. Bierwurst made a passable breakfast sausage.
