Wood sauna heater
Re: Wood sauna heater
harvia and narvi are the top brands.
It depends what you want.
New or second hand, how much are you willing to spend?
with or without waterheater?

I've heard that the bottom has fell out of Harvia quality in recent years. Apparently the branding is strong, but the product isn't. Someone I know had been talking to a builder - he said that the steel used between Harvia's firebox and stones is now so thin that it doesn't last very long. The recommedation was a Swedish brand (don't remember the name now). These were more expensive, but much better made.
Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Also, you will need a woodshed, OUTSIDE AND AWAY from your house. Woodpiles are like bug magnets, as a woodpile will attract all sorts of bugs, and sometimes rodents, too. But yes, you will need wood which is cut and split to the right size for your particular stove, is kept dry and is properly seasoned so that it will burn cleanly. Such a woodshed need not be fancy, but it needs to keep the wood dry and be ventilated so that no condensation occurs. Covering a woodpile with a tarpaulin is NOT an acceptable substitute, as that does not allow for proper ventilation.
