NEED HELP

hello everyone. i have one question that i really need your help. i am an Asia student in Finland for 3 years. in 12.2012 i and my friend booked round ticket flight from Helsinki to my country through BUDJET agency which is located in Helsinki. and the filght is operated by AEROSVIT airline( UKRAINE) . But unfortunately, 20 days before my flight, the angency send me an email and said that the flight was canceled due to difficult financial situation of AEROSVIT airline, and they promised that they will return our money soon. HOwever it has been more than 1 year until now, i send email to the agency in HElsinki, they always say they have no money to pay back,they have to wait from Aerosvit airline and various reasons besides....it seems no hope for me to gain our money now. for us, it is too much,around 14000euro.
SO do anyone here know some ways to i can ask for our money.? Thank you very much

Aerosvit has gone bankrupt.

Since the airline doesn't exist any more, I don't see how to get any money back. If you paid with credit card (which you should always try to do) then you can claim the money from the credit card company.

Hi,thanks for your reply, actually AEROSVIT still active, i still can call to the switchboard or send email,but they always just say :wait until my turn. and becuase at that time,i have no idea about those kind of paying by credit card,i always paying by e banking of NORDEA. i also contact this bank,and they said they can not

Somebody keeps open the communication lines to facilitate the administrative work on the bankruptcy.
There is no more money so you can wait as long as you can but don't expect anything.

Aerosvit filed for bankruptcy 27.12.2012, owing more than 400 mil. Eur to different airports and even their own staff. I think that your chances to get money back from them is close to zero. The agency that sold the tickets, on the other hand, might still be responsible and they might have an insurance of some kind, the problem is that the insurance will not be paid out until the bankruptcy procedures are over. The former owner if the company , Ukranian oligarch Kolomoiskiy, is now appointed as the head of dnepropetrovsk region in Ukraine. But he certainly will not reimburse your money...

Short answer : you lost the money, its goodbye

Long answer: this is the reason to have a (prepaid even) creditcard to pay for any travel. In case of banktrupcy the credit company will be the debtor, not you.

My answer: I would love if the government would give letters of marque, so you could go mug any Ukranian on the street until your debt was collected

Seriously - who gives their money to a Russian airline? (Ukraine/Belarus = all Russians under a different flag - well, at least until Putin retakes them).
