help with an order of words NEEDED

Post by skparallax » Sun Jul 27, 2014 6:14 pm

in one of my finish books i found 2 examples:

1. Mikä teidän nimenne on?
2. Entä mikä on hänen nimestä?

what is wrong with 2nd example:
- just a corrector's mistake?
- there are 2 ways to say sentences with the same sense?
- the word "entä" allows to change an order of words?

thanks

Nothing wrong, old way to say but totally legit. I assume you you ment "nimensä" because "nimestä" wont make a sense.
2nd is probably addition on some other question, i dont see how that can be lone question.
I can see 1st and 2nd questions go together.

And i want photo about " Entä mikä on hänen nimestä?" before i believe it.

I'm curious about skparallax's last question (below) -- can anyone help?

Mikä on hänen nimensä?
Mikä hänen nimensä on?

are both ok, first one more common, but neither wrong or noteworthly peculiar.

Mikä hänen on nimensä?
still does not sound too weird. The three other permutations with last words sound bit like you writing a poem (but the meaning is still clear)
