DSV runs regular single pallet and small crates services between Finland and UK. You might not be able to send your stuff via DSV as a private person, but if you speak with some local transport company, they might agree to put your stuff on the pallet, wrap it tightly and then ship it via DSV for you. I used to work as a local DSV driver from Glasgow and I delivered someone's private stuff on occassions.

It depends a bit on what kind of things you have, and what sort of volume, but it might be worth contacting the removal firms too.

Er, particularly if you can find one that specialises in moves between Finland and the UK / Europe ;)

Get on Facebook and ask someone to bring your stuff with them for cheap. Seriously.

I've just done the exact opposite! The cheapest way for me was to buy a van and drive it here myself.

Now I'm here, the van is surplus to requirements and is for sale on the For Sale/Wanted page.

For info, we found the cheapest route [to Rovaniemi] was Harwich - Hook Of Holland, Rostock - Trelleborg, and then drive north through Sweden up the E4. Obviously, that route doesn't work if you are going anywhere much south of Kemi/Oulu.....

Cheers,

Rob
