Hi Everyone,
My wife and I, both Indian, Christian with Portuguese ancestry but unable to claim Portuguese citizenship due to documentation reasons.
We would like to set up a business in Finland. Details of the business type i will withhold for now.
Here are a few questions i have:
1) How can I open a business in Finland?
2) What is the capital investment required to be invested?
3) Can you assist me with a credible lawyer to assist me?
4) What type of visa do I need? How long is the Visa valid for?
5) Is the visa renewal able? Any conditions for the visa renewal?
6) Can this converted to a Permanent Residence? How long till that happens?
7) Initially only my wife would move to Finland but I would like to visit here often how can i facilitate that?
Regards
A Quadros

Re: Opening a new business in Finland
Except that when you become member in a church, you'll have to pay church tax.you'll be treated equally and fairly as Christian or Atheist.
When you apply for a dependent RP you'll have to live here more than half the time (184 days/year). Your official place of residence will be Finland. That might effect your situation at home. The other option is to apply for a tourist visa (90 days/half year).7) Initially only my wife would move to Finland but I would like to visit here often how can i facilitate that?
Your wife can open a business in her name and operate it. You can apply for dependent RP if your wife or business makes enough income to meet the requirements.

Perhaps he belongs to the former Portuguese colony of India and has not even been to Portugal.roger_roger wrote:BTW why did Portuguese kicked you? fake documents? Dear Roger / Rosamunda / Sky2 / Rinso,
Appreciate you taking the time to post your replies to my queries.
1) The business is certainly going to be legal in nature and and different. Nothing illegal about it.
2) History about the my community here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_o ... _Catholics
My forefathers left Goa in the years after the Portuguese rulers of Goa introduced the Inquisition on behest of some corrupt officials under the patronage of the Church. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goa_Inquisition
Therefore due to the records not reaching as far back we are unable to prove that we are Goans and they surely will not look into our culture and food habits to help us with the identify.
Thanks again

Not sure how true it is:roger_roger wrote:If people start getting citizenship based on which country colonized their territory then 80% of the world would be British, French, Portuguese and Spanish citizens.sky2 wrote:Perhaps he belongs to the former Portuguese colony of India and has not even been to Portugal.

http://www.indiatimes.com/news/india/th ... 48855.htmlUnder Portuguese law, those born in Portuguese colonies before their liberation - in Goa, that would be 1961 - continue to be Portuguese, provided their births are registered in Portugal. Their descendants, up to the third generation, are also eligible for Portuguese passports, which is an incentive for even senior citizens who are otherwise not interested in moving, to get their names registered at the Conservatoria dos Registos Centrais (Central Registry of Births) in Lisbon.
