Finnish news with subtitles?
Finnish news with subtitles?
Does anybody know if it is possible to watch the normal news (YLE uutiset or other) with Finnish subtitles? Not the "live" news but the news that you watch on demand. This in another attempt to improve my language skills
Re: Finnish news with subtitles?
Not exactly what you're looking for, but probably even more helpful. This is the news in simple Finnish http://yle.fi/uutiset/osasto/selkouutiset/
They speak slowly and with not many complicated words.

Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

Yes, I knew already the selkouutisetBeep_Boop wrote:Not exactly what you're looking for, but probably even more helpful. This is the news in simple Finnish http://yle.fi/uutiset/osasto/selkouutiset/

But would be nice to watch the other one with subtitles as well. Anyway, I have sent an email to Yle in my best Finnish. We'll see what they answer.

Change the subtitle language to Dutch. That will get you Finnish subtitles in Finnish programs. Where can I change the subtitle language? On my pc I don't see that option and on my iPad there is an option but can not select any language. Could you provide a screenshot?Upphew wrote: Change the subtitle language to Dutch. That will get you Finnish subtitles in Finnish programs. Re: Finnish news with subtitles?
Hi!
In YLE Areena it's a bit different with setting on the subtitles. Whenever you see a button TXT in the lower right hand corner of the video, you can choose the subtitle and the language. It that sign isn't there - as unfortunately in the "Uutiset" videos, there are no subtitles available.
However, it's available in many current affairs programs ("Ajankohtaisohjelmat") like A-studio, MOT, Ulkolinja etc, and also in "Noin viikon uutiset" (humor in the news).
