Niin. Siis, haluat olla suomen kansalainen vaikket pysty selvittämään asioita suomen kielellä? Sulle vielä pari vuotta odotusaikaa, kunnes pystyt käyttämään kansan kieltä.
The language requirement is satisfactory, not fluent, skills. It's reasonable to ask whether it's ok to use a stronger language to answer the questions.

That's awesome. Congratulations. I had visited Police on 25th Oct 2016 but still have nor heard anything yet. However, had received an email with a request to submit a travel plan and finance on 21 April 2017.

Hello,

have you seen the Finnish flags out there today?
Well, then you soon know why:
FutureFinn got a positive decision on the citizenship application. And this is now an official Finnish flag day!!
Some say, today is Europe day, they may be a just a bit right, because I have now two European citizenships.
It is just perfect to have the Europe flag day every year as citizenship celebration day.
Here the timeline for you - all the best for your applications - and thanks to those who have shared their timelines so far. It makes waiting much more interesting :)
Applied mid November (went to the police one day after sending the application)
Waiting, waiting, waiting -> application always on "waiting for processing" (stage 1)
No questions, nothing.
Today in processing (never seen stage 2 though) and decision.
:D

Hi everyone,

Just heard from two of my friends who applied in November that they got their fantastic news as well. One of them I have the exact timeline:
applied (went to police station) on the 12th of November. Got her result on the 10th of May. The other one was similar maybe a week sooner.

Both of them were asked for additional financial support documents as they are PhD students.

Fingers crossed and cheers!

Can someone who has experience can advise me what to do with the residence permit card after receiving the citizenship. I have been granted the citizenship and have applied the passport too and when i visited the police station, they handed back me my residence card. In the decision for citizenship, it has been written that the residence permit shall no longer be used as Finished Citizen and the card shall be returned back. Are we suppose to return the residence permit card to some where other than police station?

Thanks in advace

No doubt, the police man/woman committed blunder by forgetting to withdraw the permit card from you. It was written in the decision that the permit has been cancelled and should be returned. I would advice that you take it back to the police.
Mine was collected from me last week while I applied for the passport at the police station and the woman told me that they will return it back to the immigration as it has been cancelled immediately the decision was given..

God bless you and He loves you .

It shall be returned, probably now that police does not handle permits anymore you may have to return it to Migri. In any case even if you don't returned you cannot use it anymore, so if they did not take it and you get the passport then is ok. I heard someone had the passport application pending until he returned the card, but was last year when both were handled by the police.
