Gigantti guarantee and laptop repairing or solution

Few months back, I bought a Lenovo laptop from Gigantti with two years guarantee. I do not have windows 10 CD or bootable USB. Yesterday, I got a problem with my laptop. It showed the following message when I restarted it after I installed anti virus AVG

Your PC needs to be repaired
The Boot Configuration Data File is missing some required information.
File: \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD
Error code: 0xc0000034


Did someone face same kind of problem and get his/her laptop repaired by gigantti or by the shop one bought it from for free within the guarantee period?
How much can it cost me if they do not repair it for free? Is there any cheaper option (computer repairing shop in Helsinki)?

Or does anyone know any solution without win 10 CD or bootable USB?

You have a configuration problem with AVG - your computer is not 'broken' in a way that Gigantti will take responsibility.

Best bet is to try to remove AVG and just make sure you then have Win Defender working - that's all you really need for anti-virus.

The trick, of course, will be how to get computer to work again so you can uninstall the AVG - I'll turn that question over to the nerds on the forum.

Did you try to reboot several times?

Did you try to reboot in safe mode?

Did you do a system image backup?

I have had huge problems with my Lenovo Yoga 2 over the past 2-3 years (still under guarantee) often due to Windows update issues (I have 8.1 and Gigantti told me not to attempt to upgrade to 10). I have taken the laptop back to Gigantti several times and all they do is reinstall Windows. So, as a last resort, you could do that. I have everything properly backed up so, nowadays, when it crashes, I restore everything myself. I have F-secure, no problems with that.

I have F-secure, no problems with that.
I've been asking all kinds of gurus - and they all say no advantage to F-S cf. Win Defender - except a lower amount of disposable income - I was chucking 60-70€ euro a year down the rathole. ( I DID have problems with F-S too - explained to me by F-S asiakeskuspalvelu as 'idiosyncrasies and anomalies' :( )

Thanks guys for your information.

I tried to restart several times and tried to start in safe mode but it seems that I cannot run my laptop in safe mode with that error.
I have taken the laptop back to Gigantti several times and all they do is reinstall Windows.
Rosamunda, did they charge you for reinstalling windows?

I will go to gigannti.

Boot problems require boot disc/iso file. If you can look for solutions by googling the error code.

My laptop was under warranty so no, no charge. It took a few days which was annoying but I live only 100m away from the nearest store so not such a big deal. But I am still having issues: they never managed to find the root cause of all my re-boot problems.

Get a Win10 USB stick and follow this link to explain what to do with it 8) (google is sometimes your friend, if not use duckduckgo :lol: )

Thanks people.

I went to gigantti and they repaired it within 5 minutes with the help of a boot-USB (windows 10).
Now, I bought a USB (16GB) and made it a boot USB for windows 10 with the help of the following link ( click download tool now) below "Create Windows 10 installation media"

Good decision with creating the recovery USB stick. Always create a recovery USB stick!
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.
