Hi all~~
I am bringing my dog from New York to Finland and I had a question about how strict the regulations are for travel.
I know that there is a waiting period of 21 days before a dog could travel after getting a rabies vaccination after microchipping. My dog was microchipped on June 6th and will be vaccinated today, June 14th. Our flight back to Finland is July 3rd.
This means that she will have to fly only 20 days after her vaccination. Do you think that they will be lenient enough to let her fly..?

I I wouldn't count on that. Law says 21 days, why would you be so special that law wouldn't apply to you?qphxxt wrote:Hi all~~

And you're dealing with the airline, which has to follow the rules and is not responsible for interpreting them or grant dispensation.I wouldn't count on that. Law says 21 days, why would you be so special that law wouldn't apply to you?

Thanks for the feedback!
I changed my flight and now I am departing from New York on July 5th, arriving in Berlin for a layover at 6am on July 6th and entering Finland in the afternoon on July 6th. I suppose this should be okay?

Should be. Just remember the tapeworm treatment and EU-model health certificate. Also check that Germany doesn't have any funny regulations as that is your point of entry to EU. See www.evira.fi and www.bmel.deqphxxt wrote:Thanks for the feedback!
