Hi,
Could someone tell me which Finnish banks take Australian bank cheques? NAB (National Australian Bank) to be specific.
Cheers!
Cashing in cheques
Re: Cashing in cheques
Generally speaking, any bank can send your check for collection. Specifically if it is bank or a bank confirmed check . Though collection procedure might be long and expensive . So if the sum is small - no sence in trying.
What do you want from me?????

Can you ger it put into an Australian bank account and have a friend/family member transfer thr funds? That has got tyo be cheaper than trying to get the cheque done in Finland.
Re: Cashing in cheques
The problem is, I don't have an account with the bank I recieved the cheque from.
The cheque is from a pension fund and it's more than 1000€. How much fees are we talking when say the cheque is worth 1000 €?
Does anyone know which bank would be the best for my situation?

Re: Cashing in cheques
When I have paid foreign cheques into my Finnish (OP) account there has been a flat fee rather than a percentage. The fee has been 11 or 12 euro from memory. For an amount like 1000 euro I would not consider that significant.

Fitting that first hit about cheques in Nordea's web page was "Pankkimuseo" - bank museum. Next hit told that they hit you 40€ for cashing it.DMC wrote:When I have paid foreign cheques into my Finnish (OP) account there has been a flat fee rather than a percentage.
