UK Citizen Moving To Finland

Post by KefkieTeapot » Wed Aug 02, 2017 8:58 pm

Terve!

I am an immigrant living and working here in Finland for six months. My boyfriend is from the UK, and we want to live here together. He is self-employed, and mainly gets income through writing which he would continue to do so if granted to live here.

Has any UK citizen here have recently acquired residency, or know of anyone who got approved by means of applying for an EU right of residence despite this wonderful Brexit? In case the application gets denied, is there a waiting time before one can re-apply?

Thanks!

Brexit happens in April 2019. What happens then? Who knows. But until then the UK is in EU. Rules are the same as last year or year before that.

Thanks. In case the application gets denied, is there a waiting time before one can re-apply? WHat are the strongest factors does migri consider in approving?

Dunno about waiting time. But if the circumstances are the same, the result should be same. Strongest factors... when I look at migri.fi you'll need:
-passport
-enough income or funds to not become burden on Finnish society
I'd say that the first one is showstopper, last one you can fulfill by having job or money.

Thanks upphew!

Like if for example push comes to shove, and me and my boyfriend get married during his 3 month stay, and apply for a family ties permit for him, anybody know when can he apply again after the EU registration in case it gets denied?
